Troy B. Culpepper, 26, of North Platte, was arraigned in Lincoln County Court Friday for six counts of failure to register as a sex offender.
As part of Culpepper’s previous sentence, he was required to report to the sheriff’s office every 30 days and report any address changes, but he failed to do so six times.
Culpepper was arrested Thursday. His bond for failing to report is $50,000. His new bond will run consecutive with another one of $25,000 after a March 19 conviction of being a felon in possession of a firearm. That bond is now revoked, so his total bond now is $75,000.
Unless he can post the required 10 percent, he will remain in the county jail.
Culpepper was convicted of sexual assault of a minor in 2011 in Red Willow County. But, he has not reported to the sheriff since Nov. 10, adding up to six months of failures, and therefore, six counts.
Culpepper also has a prior conviction for burglary in 2008.
And, on Sept. 4, he was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. In a plea deal, the county attorney’s office dropped all but the possession of a firearm charge.
Culpepper is scheduled to be sentenced on the weapons charge June 3.
