Hullabaloo heads to BellevueTell North Platte what you think

The Hullabaloo music and camping festival will be held Sept. 6-8 at scenic Sokol Park in Bellevue, organizer Brandon Miller said Monday.

This will be a new location for the three-day festival, which has been held in Omaha.

"We are going to miss Riverwest but are looking forward to our new home at Sokol. This beautiful park features amazing shaded concert field and campgrounds, ample parking, a playground and recreation area, covered barbeque pit, benches galore, a secondary indoor venue, shower, bathrooms, and much more," Miller said.

The site includes a new Frisbee golf course and an outdoor movie theater. Food and art vendors are welcome.

Hullabaloo was started by the Kris Lager Band of Omaha, which has a strong following in North Platte as well as across the country.

KLB was hired by Mato Nanji of Indigenous to be his backing band from 2006-09. Since parting ways with Indigenous, the KLB has found success on their own having just recorded tracks with Magic Slim, touring with Grammy winning Los Lonely Boys, and recording an album with Grammy nominee Tab Benoit.

The Lager band played May 11 in North Platte and they made frequent appearances at the Loup River Blues Festival in Arnold before it disbanded in 2011.

The Lager band members started the annual music festival in their hometown. Recently, Livability.com released a top 10 list of the best cities to see live music. Omaha was fifth, and Hullabaloo being mentioned in the article.

The Omaha World Herald reported the development.

Miller said this year Hullabaloo will be larger than ever.
