The North Platte Community College Softball team’s Tiffany Brasby and Lydia Lusk were both named to the Region IX Division II All-Region Softball Team and the Region IX Division II All-Region Tournament Team.
Tiffany Brasby is a sophomore from North Platte. Brasby hit .351 for the season and had an on base percentage of .370 with 13 doubles. Brasby was a utility player for the Knights who played short stop, first base, second base and pitched for the Knights. Brasby pitched in 12 games for the Knights. She also had a fielding percentage of .944.
Lydia Lusk is a sophomore from North Platte. Lusk hit .294 for the season and had an on base percentage of .318. Lusk was the Knights center fielder and had a fielding percentage of .924 for the season.
Brasby signs with Morningside
The North Platte Community College Softball team’s Tiffany Brasby signed with Morningside College a NAIA school located in Sioux City, Iowa.
Morningside College is currently competing in a four-team NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round double elimination tournament. Morningside is making its fifth consecutive appearance in the NAIA Softball Championship and its sixth overall.
“Brasby is one of those athletes that you want to keep for two more years,” said head coach Janelle Higgins. “Her hard work, commitment and dedication not only to her softball career, but her academics, teammates, the college and the community has been outstanding. Her drive is so influential to her teammates and to younger athletes in the community. She ended her career with the Knights pitching a great game at regionals and hitting a homerun to go out in style. She will be missed next year.”
