Lady Knights basketball sign out-state playersTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team announced the singing of April Stull of Sweeny, Texas and Stephanie Casteel of Gillette, Wyo.

April Stull a 6-0 post player joins the Lady Knights after being named the southern Brazoria County most valuable player.

Stull averaged 22.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game for the Sweeny High School Lady Bulldogs as a senior after posting 15.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game as a junior. She led the Lady Bulldogs to the District 24-3A championship and a win in an area playoff game before losing in the regional quarterfinals.

Stephanie Casteel a 5-6 guard joins the Lady Knights after being a large part of the Wyoming 4A State Champion Campbell County Camels.

Casteel averaged 3.1 points per game and was named the Most Improved Player by her teammates for her defensive play. Stull also led the state of Wyoming in free throw percentage at 82 percent.

“We are very excited to welcome April and Stephanie to our program,” said head coach Richard Thurin. “April will bring us an impact player inside and Stephanie increases our depth on the perimeter.”
