The board voted to approve an agreement with Miller & Associates’ engineering company to work with Eilers to provide a stamped drawing and recommendations on the pedestrian bridge design.

Eilers Machine and Welding President Chase Eilers expressed appreciation, on behalf of his family and business, of the Johnson Lake community. He said their family wants to help the development of the hike/bike trail.

“The Eilers family has been a main staple of the Lexington community for a long time, and this project is very fitting for them,” said Central Director Dave Rowe. “A big thank you goes out to them for donating this bridge.”

Also, Eilers is currently building stop gates for the CPPID diversion dam at North Platte, and the company has completed other projects in the past, according to Central spokesman Jeff Buettner.
