The market will be held inside the east part of the Prairie Arts Center at Fifth and Jeffers in North Platte.

Spokesman Gene Gilsdorf said some of the herbs for sale will include Dill, Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Cilantro and Parsely. Other plants will be Heirloom tomatoes and Red geraniums. The Garden Shoppe will have dried herbs, pottery items, barn wood planters, garden benches and hats and homemade delicious pear spread.

Other items of interest will be jewelry, aprons, slumped glass trays, stepping stones, hypertufa pots, hand-woven rugs, antique Acorn stove plus many more one-of-a-kind items, Gilsdorf said.

A drawing will be held for a children’s Victorian style 8 x 8-foot playhouse donated by Ben and Libby Lashley. This will be given away following a drawing at the Herb Market on Saturday at 4 p.m. (need not be present to win).

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at Gary's Super Store.

Funds will be used to support the ongoing work at the Prairie Arts Center, where an elevator and staircase is being installed and the lower floors are being remodeled.

Gilsdorf said the CUAC wishes to give special thanks to the downtown merchants for their ongoing support in the development of the Prairie Arts Center.

“Come join in the good times,” he said.
