Rainy 4th St., 8:45 a.m.

Three-quarters of an inch of rain fell overnight, bringing much-needed moisture to the North Platte area.

The National Weather Service in North Platte reported 0.73 inches of precipitation by 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Precipitation in North Platte was about half of normal during April.

Light rain is forecast to continue throughout the day and into the night, with a good chance of snow Wednesday afternoon between 2-4 p.m., the weather service said.

The thermometer will hover around freezing most of the day and night, and the temperature will warm into the 50s through the rest of the week.

By Monday, it will be 70 degrees, according to the weather service.
