Mail: Speak out for Fair TaxTell North Platte what you think

My federal income tax return is relatively simple, yet I spent hours gathering information and completing an organizer that I sent to an accountant.

The accountant charged me enough to buy a small boat to complete my return, yet will not guarantee its accuracy due to the complexity of the 72,000 page tax code.

The Fair Tax bill is currently before the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee. The committee has the power to bring the bill before the full house for debate and a vote, or to let it die.

This bill will eliminate the IRS and replace the income tax and payroll taxes with one national sales tax that will be collected at the register.

Congressman Adrian Smith is a member of the Ways and Means Committee. If you want to make the IRS disappear, call 202-225-6435 today and tell him to support HR25, The Fair Tax.
