Jeremy S. Kreiling
A Sutherland man is back in jail after he allegedly choked his wife Monday so hard that she had trouble telling investigators what happened. Sheriff's deputies were called to West Birdwood Road north of Sutherland around 7:15 p.m. Monday on the report of a domestic disturbance, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Deputies met with a woman who said her husband Jeremy S. Kreiling, 25, assaulted her. The woman had a difficult time talking and told deputies that Kreiling had strangled her to the point she was very dizzy and disoriented.
Kreiling also held up a rifle and made threating remarks, the sheriff's spokesman said.
Kreiling refused to speak with deputies about the incident, according to the statement.
He was charged with domestic assault and felony strangulation and taken to the Lincoln County Jail. In court Tuesday, his bond was set at $10,000.
"I will just set your bond according to the schedule," Turnbull said, noting that Kreilingís alleged prior crimes were not recent.
Kreiling was out on bail on a prior charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child after he posted 10% of $500,000 bond, the sheriff's statement said.
He was arrested Nov. 8 after a teenage girl, then 15, told investigators that Kreiling assaulted her two years earlier while she was helping babysit.
The alleged assault took place on New Year's Eve, Kreiling's wife said at the time. She doubted it could have occured, due to the number of people in the house.
