Former North Platte resident Deb Riley was the lucky winner Saturday of a Harley Road King motorcycle at a “Biker’s Ball” in Cheyenne, Wyo.

The bike is valued at $21,000.

The annual Biker’s Ball raises money for Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club and the Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club. Money goes towards education scholarships for returning veterans or their children.

Riley bought one of 400 $75 tickets that were sold for the drawing and won the grand prize.

Riley is the widow of former UP engineer and Bailey Yard Hall of Fame member Bill Riley. Her husband died in 2011, but Deb felt like he was with her.

“I know it was Bill watching over me,” she said.

Steve Beck of Scottsbluff was the other big winner at the gathering, taking home a 60-inch high definition TV.
