Cortney L. Hansen
Cortney Hansen was put in the Lincoln County Jail on April 24, charged with use of a firearm to commit a felony after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend, and himself, with a rifle.
Hansen, 33, had been hospitalized for nearly a week before he returned to North Platte.
Police said Hansen had been drinking when he showed up at his girlfriend’s house around midnight on April 18. The woman and her child were sleeping. He brought a large caliber rifle with him.
Hansen stayed there through the night, and made suicidal and threatening comments while pointing the rifle at himself and others, police said.
He was arrested at 10 a.m. April 19. After a medical evaluation and brief hospitalization in North Platte, Hansen was sent to Kearney for further treatment.
When he was released from there, he was brought back to Lincoln County, where he is charged with terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and felony child abuse.
Hansen has a lengthy arrest record. He has been charged 20 times in Lincoln County since 2000.
Bond is set at $100,000.
