The North Platte Community College Music and Art departments will present a concert and art showing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at the McDonald-Belton Theater on the south campus of the college. The evening will feature the college choir, select choir, and jazz band, plus an art showing by NPCC art students under the instruction of Dik Haneline.
The Jazz Band, directed by Ron Daly, will perform numbers including “In the Mood,” “Soul Man,” and “Saxes with Attitude.”
The Select Choir, directed by Elizabeth Peters with Donna Pucket as accompanist, will perform “Kiss the Girl” and “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling.”
The Concert Choir, also directed by Peters, will perform selections including, “Sing Me to Heaven,” “Goin’ Up to Glory” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Members of the NPCC jazz band are: Meshka Waya of Fayetteville, Ark.; Walker Baird of Lewellen; Alexis Beckman, Michael Blue, Mikayla Brauer, Kaleb Christensen, Erik Geilenkirchen, Hannah Hokanson, Christina Rankin and Jeremy Spain-Carrion of North Platte; and Tori Daly of Sutherland.
