With a record of 10-2 on the season, the North Platte girls’ soccer team has earned home-field advantage at districts for the second straight year.
On April 29, the Lady Bulldogs will host Omaha Bryan in the A-4 district semifinals at Bauer Field.
NPHS is the No. 1 seed, while Bryan is the fourth seed. Millard West is seeded second and will play third seed Lincoln North Star on April 29.
“We’re excited,” Kaminski said of districts following the win over Norfolk on Tuesday. “It was one of the goals the girls set forward at the beginning of the year. They also know that hosting districts comes from having a very good season.”
Last year, the Bulldogs hosted the A-5 district. They slammed Fremont 7-1 in the semifinals. But they fell in the finals to Lincoln Southwest in a shootout.
Despite the heartbreaking loss, North Platte received the wild card into state where they lost 2-0 in the first round to eventual state runner--up Lincoln Southeast.
