College offers driver's edTell North Platte what you think

Driver Education will be offered May 20-June 3 at North Platte Community College.

Driver's Ed is a first step to learning safe, life-long driving skills, teaching basic traffic laws, driver awareness, rules of the road, and basic motor vehicle operation, organizers say.

The Mid-Plains Center for Enterprise at North Platte Community College will offer a Driver Education course on Monday through Friday, 8-10 a.m. or 10 a.m.-noon, from May 20 to June 3.

This course consists of 20 hours of classroom time and five hours of driving time as required by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. The class prepares drivers for licensure by awarding a Drive Test Waiver upon satisfactory completion.

The minimum student age is 14. Students must attend all sessions, have a learnerís permit before attending class and meet all drive requirements in order to obtain the drive test waiver.

Driving sessions will be separate from class times. The class fee is $225. For more information, call Crystal Welch at (308) 535-3714 or register online at www.centerforenterprise.com/register.
