Lady Knights swept by RaidersTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Community College Knights Softball team dropped two games Saturday to the Central Community College Raiders.

In the opening game the Knights fell 4-1 and then dropped the second game of the double header 11-8.

In the opening game Josilyn Richardson took the loss for the Knights (4-31) as she gave up four hits and 2 unearned runs, along with one strikeout.

Katharine Savolt and Tiffany Brasby led the Knights from the plate as they both went 1-2. Richardson scored the only run for the Knights on two walks.

In the second game the Knights bats came alive as they scored eight runs. However Richardson again took the loss as the Knights gave up 11 runs, including 8 unearned runs.

Alexis Bryant had a huge day at the plate going 3-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Savolt went 1-1 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. Brasby also went 2-4 with three RBIs.

The Knights return to the diamond on Thursday April 25 as they take on McCook Community College at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at home. The Knights then travel to Scottsbluff to take on Western Nebraska Community College in a postponed game at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday April 26.

The Knights then take on Barton Community College at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday April 27.

The Knights conclude the regular season on May 1 at home against Colby Community College.
