Krystien P. Schutt

Krystien P. Schutt, 19, of North Platte, pled guilty Thursday to first-offense domestic assault.

She was sentenced to 60 days with 21 days credit for time served.

Schutt was arrested around 6:30 a.m. March 28 after police were called to the 800 block of North Bryan.

Police said they found Michael Catchings, his mother Cynthia and Krystien intoxicated and it was evident they had been fighting.

Officers were told that Krystien punched Michael, which upset his mother Cynthia, who then punched Krystien. Michael stepped in to intervene by putting his mother into a headlock choking her. And at some point during the melee, Cynthia choked Michael.

All three had visible injuries and were jailed.

Michael is charged with strangulation and his mother Cynthia is charged with one count of third degree assault and one count of assault.

In Nebraska strangulation is a felony.

At this time Cynthia or Michael Catchings have not been sentenced and jail records show no bonds set for either of them.

Bailey, Jackson

Peter Bailey, 26, of North Platte, waived his preliminary hearing in Lincoln County Court Thursday and his case was bound over to district court. Charges against Amie M. Jackson, 37, who was arrested with Bailey, were also bound over to district court.

Bailey and Jackson were arrested in the early hours April 15 during a traffic stop near 9th and Curtis for erratic driving.

Bailey was driving and had three passengers. He initially gave police a false name and while the officers were searching the three passengers, he tried to run. Police quickly caught up to him and restrained him, and during a search of the vehicle several items for using methamphetamine were found.

Bailey was in possession of the prescription drug Clonazepam.

Jackson was arrested at the same time for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a parole violation.

She and Bailey both remain jailed on bonds of $10,000 each for the latest offenses, but are also held without bonds for parole violations.

Bond was lowered for Britton S. Renfrow, 21, of North Platte, whose case was bound over to district court.

Defense attorney Robert Lindemeier asked for a bond reduction and Lincoln County Judge Kent Turnbull said, “I’ll listen on bond reduction, but this a very serious case so bond may not be reduced.”

Lindemeier pointed out that Renfrow has no prior record, has lived in North Platte all his life and said he isn’t a risk to run.

Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Austen Leighty objected to any reduction but said he would respect the discretion of the judge.

Turnbull hesitantly lowered bond from $500,000 to $300,000. To be released, Renfrow would have to post 10 percent, or $30,000 cash.

Renfrow was arrested April 11 along with Matt Bobo in connection with a shooting of a North Platte man who turned up at the hospital.

Police found the car that was believed to be involved and after a brief chase, three men bailed out and ran on foot. Officers caught up with all three -- Renfrow, Bobo and Ethan Bentley, 21, who was arrested April 16.

Renfrow is charged with possessing a defaced firearm, using a firearm to commit a felony, attempted robbery and possession of oxycoton.

Bobo is also charged with attempted robbery, possessing a defaced firearm and possession of a controlled substance, meth. His bond remains $500.000.

Bentley’s bond is $100,000.
