Lady Knights softball returns after hiatusTell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Community College Softball team returns to the diamond on Saturday when they play Central Community College.

The games against the Raiders are slated at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Knights return to action after 12 days off after the game on April 16 with Western Nebraska Community College was cancelled due to weather conditions.

The Knights have faced the Raiders once already this season falling 8-13 in the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference Tournament.

Briona Santovito took the loss for the Knights as she gave up seven hits and one walk. Siarra Velasquez had a huge game at the plate as she finished 2-3 with a homerun and four RBIs. Tiffany Brasby, Rylee Murphy and Soliel Atenza all went 2-4 from the plate and Murphy had an RBI.

The Knights stay in the friendly confines of the Dowhower Complex for six more games as they host double headers with McCook Community College on April 25, Barton Community College on April 27 and Colby Community College on May 1.

The postponed game with Western Nebraska Community College will be at a date and time yet to be set.
