A semi-truck loaded with fertilizer tipped over Saturday morning in the middle of the road at the corner of U.S. Highway 83 and State Farm Road.
The truck was northbound on U.S. 83 when it turned right onto East Sate Farm Road about 9:40 a.m., the police report said.
It apparently took the corner too fast. During the turn, it rolled onto the driver’s side and the load of dry fertilizer spilled across State Farm Road.
The truck, a 2001 Freightliner, is owned by Ag Valley Cooperative of Edison. The driver was Michael J. Hamilton, 61, of Hayes Center.
The truck sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages.
The fertilizer was loaded into another trailer and recovered.
