Original Town Association to host E-collection and recyclingTell North Platte what you think

The Original Town Association in conjunction with Keep North Platte Lincoln County Beautiful will host an ‘E-Cycle Collection Event’ Saturday, May 18.

Electronic and electric devices will be collected for disposal and recycling from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Original Town Association’s ‘E-Cycle Collection Event’ is an innovative new program for Lincoln County.

It allows all electronics retailers and users; both business and residential, to take responsibility for the products we make, buy and use from the beginning to the end of their useful lives.

Businesses and households may drop off electronic and electric devices and equipment at 1402 North Jeffers from 8AM to 1PM on Saturday May 18th, 2013. This location is directly West of Cody Park on Highway 83. The ‘E-Cycle Collection Event’ is made possible in part by a grant from WasteCap Nebraska and the Nebraska Environmental Trust.

Computer monitors and televisions may be dropped off for $10 each; and all other peripheral electronic equipment, electrical devices, electric tools, cell phones and toner cartridges may be dropped off for a free will donation. Participants bringing computers, PDAs or cellular phones should remove all confidential information prior to this collection event.

Items not accepted include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, household appliances, lead acid batteries, electric fixtures, fluorescent light bulbs and broken glass, CDs and tapes, software disks, paint, pesticides and liquid or chemical waste.

Organizers are inviting other groups, clubs, schools and individuals interested in participating to please contact the Original Town Association at (308) 534-3648.
