She had been released from jail just four days earlier.

Brenda Lee, 39, of North Platte was arrested around 1 p.m. Tuesday after police were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1700 block of West 14th.

While talking with Lee, the officer believed she was under the influence and found cause to arrest her. She later tested positive for methamphetamine, police information officer Rodney Brown said.

Lee is charged with assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, use of a weapon to commit a felony and terroristic threats. In court Thursday, her bond was set at $100,000. She asked for a public defender.

Lee had only been out of jail for four days. She was released April 5 after doing time for domestic assault and driving under suspension. She served 52 days of a 90-day sentence. Her jail time was reduced from 90 to 52 days due to “good time” provisions that shorten the sentences of inmates for good behavior.

Lee’s record shows 20 visits to the county jail since 2004. The list of charges includes assaults, use of a weapon, terroristic threats, cruelty towards a child and theft. She has also been charged with cocaine possession, being a fugitive, resisting arrest, false reporting, driving under the influence and driving under suspension.
