Blood drive set WednesdayTell North Platte what you think

The weather will be cold Wednesday, but the Mid-Plains chapter of the American Red Cross wants warm blood.

The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive.

"We are in need of additional donors and are hoping you can help in our efforts," director Shelly Penner said.

The drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at 1111 S. Cottonwood St. in North Platte.

"We are inviting donors to be hometown heros and answer the call to help patients in need by donating," Penner said. "We have several appointments/times available. Donors can call to schedule a time or walk in."

To make an appointment or for more information, contact Amanda Koubek at 660-6709.

In the hour it takes to volunteer to donate blood, you can help save the lives of patients in our community and across the country, Penner said.
