For the eighth year, men will walk a mile through downtown North Platte in womenís shoes on Friday, April 19 to raise awareness of domestic violence.

NebraskaLand National Bank, the North Platte Volunteer Fire Department and Huskeradio are teaming up for the eighth annual walk.

The walk will begin at 11:30 a.m. on April 19 at NebraskaLand National Bankís downtown bank.

All proceeds benefit the Rape and Domestic Abuse Program.

The public is encouraged to form a team of friends or co-workers, challenge another organization to form a team, or nominate a guy to walk a mile in womenís shoes, organizers say.

All participants are asked to raise at least $100 and will receive a free event tee-shirt. The event will conclude with a free-will donation tailgate.

Registration packets are available at any NebraskaLand National Bank location.
