A North Platte woman is in jail, charged with felony assault after she allegedly attacked a woman who is her domestic partner.

At around 11 a.m. Monday, police went to a residence in the 2400 block of West Ninth on the report of a domestic disturbance, Police Information Officer Rodney Brown said.

The 30-year-old female victim told investigators that her domestic partner, Roxanne Duran, 38, assaulted her, Brown said.

The victim said Duran became upset with her and began pushing and striking her, causing pain and minor injury. And, the victim said that during the altercation, Duran held her down and choked her.

Police determined there was probable cause to arrest Duran and charge her with domestic assault – strangulation.

Strangulation is an automatic felony.

Druan was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center. Her bond is set at $5,000.
