Motorcycle-pickup wreck near elementary schoolTell North Platte what you think

A North Platte man was slightly injured in a collision Tuesday afternoon near Lincoln Elementary School.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Kent Hild of North Platte, 63, pulled south from the stop sign at Vine and Ninth in his pickup.

Hild hit Joshua Bodenus, 26, who was going east on Ninth on his motorcycle. Hild’s pickup hit the rear of the motorcycle.

Bodenus, who was wearing a helmet, received visible but not disabling injuries to his arm, police said.

Hild told an investigator that he looked but did not see the motorcycle after he stopped at the stop sign.

Bodenus’s Kawasaki was damaged to the tune of $500, and the damage to Hild’s business truck were minimal – about $50, according to the police report.
