A North Platte man is in jail after he fought with police Saturday night at a bar and at the hospital.

Jacob Titman, 31, reportedly got unruly and refused to leave Shooters sometime after 11 p.m. The police arrived at 11:20 p.m. but could not convince Titman to leave either. He was belligerent and refused to comply.

When police tried to arrest him, he resisted, police information officer Rodney Brown said.

Titman was finally handcuffed and taken to jail, but he caused so much trouble at the detention center that officers took him to the emergency room at Great Plains Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

At the hospital Titman continued to be uncooperative and belligerent. He kicked a police officer in the jaw.

Brown said Titman was finally medically cleared and jailed.

He is charged with resisting arrest (second offense) and assault on an officer, both felonies. Titman resisted arrest in 2008 after he allegedly violated a protection order, according to jail records.

This time, Titman also faces misdemeanor charges -- criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace -- plus possession of narcotic equipment, an infraction.

He is held on a $100,000 bond.
