As the North Platte High School girls' track and field team finished seventh at the Buffalo Bill Invite on Thursday, Coach Dennis Fornander found out who he will be looking toward as building blocks on his team.
"It was a tough meet," said Fornander. "But we had some good things happen."
Allexis Menghini was the Lady Dawgs' only individual winner, taking the pole vault with a height of 11-feet, three-inches.
The two-time defending Class A champion in the event was one of three North Platte vaulters to place. Tori Kurth and Rachel Kosmacek also finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
"Allexis had some good attempts and I am pleased with her performance," Fornander said.
Menghini also finished third in the long jump. But outside of Menghini and the other pole vaulters, the Lady Bulldogs only had two other competitors place in the 10-team invite.
Freshman Madison Raska, who was battling injury, finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, and Catelyn Lee was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles.
