Mother, son, girlfriend jailed for mutual assaultsTell North Platte what you think

A mother, son and girlfriend got into a ruckus Thursday morning, throwing punches and applying strangleholds on one another, and all of them ended up in jail.

Alcohol was a factor, police said.

The fight was reported to the police around 6:30 a.m. at the 800 block of North Bryan.

When the cops arrived, they found Michael Catchings, his mother Cynthia and Michaelís girlfriend Krystien Schutt intoxicated. It was evident that they had been fighting, a police spokesman said.

Officers were told that Krystien punched Michael, which upset his mother Cynthia, who then punched Krystien.

Michael intervened, putting his mother into a headlock and choking her. At some point during the ruckus Cynthia choked Michael, investigators said.

All three had visible injuries and were taken to jail.

Michael was charged with strangulation against Cynthia. Krystien was charged with domestic assault against Michael. Cynthia was charged with strangulation of Michael and assault on Krystien.

Strangulation is a felony.

Their bonds have not been set yet.
