A North Platte teenager is in jail after he allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend Tuesday night during a wild fight on Dodge Hill.

Justus Case, 18, punched and strangled his girlfriend until she lost consciousness in the parking lot of Dodge Hill south of North Platte, the girl told sheriff’s investigators.

According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s statement, the girl said after she regained consciousness, Case assaulted her again but she managed to lock him out of the car. Case then jumped on the car, shattering the front window and he told the girl he was going to kill her, the sheriff said.

The girl said she was able to drive away, leaving Case in the parking lot.

Investigators found and arrested Case later at his grandparents’ house. The girl went to the emergency room at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.

Case is charged with domestic assault, criminal mischief and strangulation. Strangulation is a felony.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, according to the sheriff's office.
