Chantel Johnson of North Platte was honored Tuesday as one of the Bulldogs of the Month of February a monthly award given to outstanding high school students.

Johnson was unable to attend the March 12 meeting to receive her award, when Victor Ramirez was honored.

Johnson is a senior. She is the student council secretary. She has been on the council all four years of high school as well as one year in middle school.

She competes in track and works on the family ranch, which keeps her active, she said.

Johnson told the board she wants to become a high school social studies/history teacher.

She is the daughter of Gordon and Sandy Johnson.
