A Hershey man driving a pickup with no taillights and carrying an unloaded shotgun Saturday was stopped and arrested.

Greg Skinner, Jr. is charged with violating a domestic abuse protection order. The protection order prohibits him from carrying a gun.

A police officer stopped Skinner at 8:45 p.m. Saturday near Lincoln and West B because the taillights on his Chevy S10 pickup were inoperable, Police Information Officer Rodney Brown said.

The officer saw a unloaded “single-shot shotgun resting beside the front seat passenger and Skinner,” Brown said.

Brown said when the officer checked Skinner's record, he was identified as a respondent in a domestic abuse protection order. He was also searched and was found to be carrying less than an ounce of marijuana. He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail.

Skinner, 35, is also faces other charges -- two thefts of goods valued below $500, intimidation by phone and possession of narcotic equipment.

His bond is set at $25,000.

Skinner was arrested Sept. 20, 2011 in Hershey and charged with domestic assault and strangulation. He'd been in a car accident earlier that day and went to the Bar afterwards. When his domestic partner drove him home from the bar, the two started arguing and Skinner assaulted her, according a Lincoln County Sheriff's report.
