Both the McCook girls and boys track teams defeated North Platte teams Friday in a dual meet in North Platte.
The McCook Lady Bison overwhelmed the Lady Bulldogs, 94.5-37.5.
The North Platte boys fared better, but McCook held the upper hand, 76.5-64.5.
The Lady Bulldogs are beset by injuries, coach Dennis Fornander said, with about a half-dozen girls hobbled or out of action.
Alexis Menghini won both the pole vault (10 feet) and the long jump (16 feet, 2 inches) for the girls. Catelyn Lee won the triple jump (31 feet, 7.75 inches) and
the Lady Bulldog 3200 relay team took first in a time of 11 minutes, 46 seconds.
Hope Wilke finished second in the shot put with a toss of 35 feet -- two feet better than her previous best, Fornander said.
Freshman Madison Raska was second in the high jump (4 feet, 8 inches) and third in the long jump (15 feet, 8 inches) but was injured in the long jump and did not run in the sprints.
North Platte's distance runners scored heavily in the meet.
Marcus Miller took first in the 800 meters (2:09). Wyatt McGuire was first in the 1600 (4:47.2) and Ace Haws second (4:48). Haws ran first in the 3200 meters (10:37).
Caleb Dodge was a double winner for the Bulldogs, taking first in the 110-hurdles in a time of 16:20, and first in the triple jump (42 feet, 8 inches.)
The North Platte team won the 3200 meter relay (9:28.4), and Evan Lamphear took first in the pole vault at 13 feet, 6 inches. Brandon Hansen was third in the vault at 12 feet, 6 inches.
