Rain and wintry precipitation will arrive in western and north central Nebraska Friday night into Sunday, the National Weather Service in North Platte predicts.
Accumulating snows are forecast across the central plains. The path of the storm is still uncertain, but snow is likely across north central and western Nebraska.
Strong northerly winds will blow Saturday afternoon and last into Sunday. The combination of snow and wind could make travel difficult, the weather service advises.
In North Platte, the weather service makes it a 60 percent chance of rain Friday night, with a 70 percent chance of rain/snow Saturday. Winds will blow around 25 mph with gusts around 35 at the height of the storm Saturday.
