Women who have made great contributions to our history will be portrayed at the next Brown Bag Luncheon on noon Friday, March 8 at the North Platte Public Library. Vicki McCarty will share stories, using costumes, pictures, dolls and antiques from her vast collection. Women featured will include Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt and Rosie the Riveter, to name a few. McCarty has presented programs at the library, schools, nursing homes, and other places. She amassed her collection of costumes from relatives and has continued the hobby, studying historical periods and clothing styles through the years. She developed her storytelling style as the activity director of a local nursing home. Her programs always evoke memories. This program is free to the public but seating is limited. Phone the library at 535-8036 to reserve seats by March 7. Attendees may bring their lunches. Coffee, tea and water will be provided.
