North Platte St. Pat's will square off against Hershey Tuesday for the second time in two weeks, in what will be the final game of the regular season for both teams. St. Pat's is heavily favored in the game between neighboring rivals. The Irish bring a 19-3 record to the game after rolling past Hayes Center by 24 points on Friday. Hershey is 8-15 after losing Friday by 13 to Perkins County, 56-43. It will be the third meeting of the year for the teams. St. Pat's won both previous games, most recently on Feb. 7, when the Irish notched a 53-30 victory.
Hayes Center The Irish got off to a good start against Hayes Center Friday and led 30-16 at halftime. Then they put the game away in the third period. Joseph Clinch led St. Pat's with 20 points. Mark Mayfield chipped in 12. The Irish led 17-5 at the end of the first period and nearly duplicated the effort in the third period when they outscored Hayes Center 15-6. Hayes Center (8-13) Coach Louis Cuellar said his team played decent basketball, but St. Pat's did a good job of getting open shots and rebounded well. Seth Gohl led Hayes Center with 13 points and eight rebounds.
