Teas, entertainment and sweets will be offered March 16 at the Platte River Mall to raise money of the Bridge of Hope abuse shelter in North Platte.
Children and parents are invited, and businesses are encouraged to donate money for tea sets.
To kick off this year’s “Wish Away Child Abuse” Community Campaign, “It’s Always Tea Time” will be held to assist in the Bridge of Hope fundraising and awareness goals and involve the community in supporting our mission.
"We would love to have you attend our event and bring a special child in your life.
A fantasy land of child’s play has been created to allow for a fun-filled experience for any age," said Cassie Condon of the Bridge of Hope and the mall.
In return, a small token of generosity is always appreciated but not required.
"We will meet at the Wishing Well at 10 a.m. Activities, games, teas of many colors and more will be ready to entertain all ages," Condon said.
Tickets for the Tea Party are $5 per child. Adults will not need a ticket but they are asked to accompany the children. Tickets are available at the Mall 0ffice (Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m.), the Viaero Kiosk in the mall during mall hours or downtwon at the Old Town Square (Mon-Sat 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
To make a donation to purchase a tea set for the event, you can call the mall office at 308-534-3090 for more info or you can mail your donations to Bridge of Hope, 410 West Fifth, North Platte, NE 69101 and you will be recognized as a donor. Every tea set donation will be sold during the event with proceeds benefiting the center, Condon said.
