Law enforcement officials are still looking for a shotgun and a pistol that were stolen in mid-January and December in Keith County. Around Jan. 16, someone stole two high-end shotguns from a vehicle in the 300 block of East 10th in Ogallala, along with a large amount of hunting gear, according to Keith County Crimestoppers. The shotguns were a Browning Citori over/under and a Winchester Super X2 semi-automatic shotgun. The Winchester is still missing, but the Browning shotgun has been recovered.
Also during December, a Colt Double Eagle .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol was stolen from a home in eastern Keith County, near Lincoln County.
All of the serial numbers for the stolen firearms have been entered into a national database and any law enforcement officer can check the status of a serial number on a weapon.
Law enforcement is asking the public to come forward with any information about subjects conducting suspicious gun sales, including selling guns for far less than they are worth, insisting on making a sale anonymously, or sales fitting the descriptions of the weapons just mentioned.
