Inmate hides pot in butt, all the way to jail Tell North Platte what you think

Jeffrey T. Denson

Jeff Denson, 21, stuck marijuana up his butt and smuggled it into the Lincoln County Jail, then he passed some on to two other inmates.

Denson was already in serious trouble when the pot was found Wednesday. He had been arrested twice in four days.

Detention officers found three inmates -- Michael Malmkar, Matthew Mollman and Denson -- with the pot during a routine search, according to a sheriff's statement.

Denson confessed to the crime, the statement said.

Denson was booked shortly after midnight Monday for the second time in four days on drugs and weapons charges.

His first arrest was late Friday night, after police found a pickup full of people illegally parked in a Department of Roads yard. The four adults had drugs and a handgun, police said.

Denson remained in jail over the weekend, but released on his own recognizance Monday afternoon and got in trouble again that night. He allegedly helped in an armed robbery of cash and a cellphone from Stephanie Vencill, 20, at a mobile home in King's Court in the 2400 block of W. Ninth.

Denson was picked up later driving the car that Vencill described.

When Denson went back in jail, he evidently had a baggie of pot stuck up his butt that went along with him.

In court Tuesday, Denson's bond was set at $100,000.

The pot -- less than an ounce -- turned up Wednesday evening as cells were being searched.

Malmkar told investigators he had found the pot in the day area -- the commons area where inmates congregate in the daytime.

Mollman told investigators that he knew nothing about the marijuana even though it was in a container in his cell.

But Denson said he had intimate knowledge about it, the sheriff said. Denson admitted he hid the marijuana in his rectum and held it there through the booking and strip search. He also said he gave some to Malmkar and Mollman because they wanted it, the sheriff's statement said.

Inmates are stripped naked but not routinely probed, a sheriff's spokesman told the Bulletin.

Denson picked up an additional charge for his efforts -- distribution of marijuana. Malmkar and Mollman were charged with possession.

More charges are possible, according to the statement.

I am going to guess that if he has hidden weed in his bung-hole that he has done it before with other drugs. I cant imagine with what weed is worth why he would try hiding a small stash there. As he was one of the four the other day that were already charged with drug possession. I say throw the book at him.

Jeffrey Denson fails at crime.

This reminds me of that scene from Cheech and Chong where they are smoking pot that Chong recovered from a pile of dog crap after his dog ate his stash.
