The National BSA board is having a hard time making a decision. The board was set to make an announcement Feb. 6, but kicked the can down the road. Now, the board wants 1,400 delegates to vote on it in May at a national Boy Scout convention.
Local sponsoring groups could still prohibit gays if they choose.
According to reports, the BSA have experienced financial stress for at least five years because of the recession, membership declines and the withdrawal of corporate support.
Pro-homosexual groups blame the problems on the anti-homosexual policy. Church groups say otherwise.
