First of all, to the people that donated in memory of someone: Michael K. Johnson in memory of Troy A. Benner and Debra Ayers Riley in memory of William A. Riley.

Also to the families that generously donated: James and Lori Engbrecht, the Scot Gutherless Family, the Robert Martin Family, Robert and Roselyn McFarland, Jim and Shari Mintle, the Rickett family and Robert and Dorothy Wills.

I wish also to thank the businesses and companies: Bloedorn Lumber, CNPPID, Equitable Bank, Lincoln County Department of Roads and Western Materials.

I would also like to thank my fellow scouts from Troop 293 and friends who donated their time, labor, and hard work in helping me finish the project.

Thank you everyone. Without your help and generosity, I could not have finished the Ft. McPherson turnout.

By Jerry Logan Mull, Eagle Scout Candidate, Troop 293

Editor's note: When fundraising stalled for the improvements, Mull contacted the Bulletin. We were able to help him obtain the money needed, thanks to the generosity of our readers.

Thank you Jerry Mull and your scout troop 293 for following through and finishing this project. I visited this site about 10 years ago. The location didn't even have enough space to pull off of the main roadway and the statue was surrounded by weeds. Judging by the picture shown here it is more accessable to visitors. Thanks for taking something that already exisited and making it much better! (Editor, thank you too for sharing this follow up story, can you post a link here to the original story?)
