The North Platte Public Library will have an open house Feb. 14 in celebration of the completion of our Broadband Technology Opportunities Program grant.
The library will be celebrating the addition of $32,000 in new computers, desks and related equipment.
The items were purchased through a Broadband Technology Opportunity Program grant.
The open house is 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Library Director Cecelia Lawrence said.
There will be equipment demonstrations, tours of the area, refreshments and door prizes.
Lawrence said the equipment is 9 desktop computers, 11 laptop computers, 1 laptop charging cart, 1 Americans with Disabilities Act station, 1 printer, 2 scanners, 1 projector, 1 wall-mount projection screen, 3 network switches, 2 wifi routers, 17 computer chairs, 6 computer desks, 1 adjustable desk.
The addition of this equipment should help the library meet more of the technology needs of the North Platte area, Lawrence said.
