The Knights shot the ball extremely well, finishing the game shooting 54 percent from the field including a 56 percent clip from behind the three-point line.

The Knights advanced their record to 18-4 on the season and 8-2 Region IX. Western Nebraska fell to 8-14 and 1-7 in Region IX.

Ethan Montalvo led North Platte with 23 points and 7 assists to break out of his shooting slump. Reath Jiech contributed 16 points and 7 rebounds to go along with Ben Wilsonís 16 points and 8 rebounds. Damon Brown rounded out the Knights double figure scoring with 14 points and 7 assists.

The Cougars were led by Sebastian Suarez who had 14 points in the loss.

The Knights continued their aggressive defensive play forcing 22 turnovers and turning them into 27 points and never letting the Cougarís find a rhythm.

ďI thought that we did a great job playing team defense and turning their mistakes into points,Ē said Knights assistant coach Nathan Wieseler.

The Knights broke the 100 point mark with under a minute left on a 3 pointer by Rob Lewis.

The Knights travel to face the Laramie County Golden Eagles on Tuesday Feb. 5 and return home for a pair of home games next Friday and Saturday against Trinidad State and Otero.

The tip against Trinidad State is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday Feb. 8 and a tip of 2 p.m against Otero on Saturday Feb 9. The Knights defeated Laramie County (64-54) and Trinidad State (86-55) earlier this year and look to avenge one of their four losses against Otero who defeated the Knights 75-61 in Otero, Colo.
