HASTINGS-The North Platte High School boys' and girls' swimming teams beat Hastings and McCook on Friday in a double dual. The North Platte boys beat McCook 65-24 and Hastings 52-37. Winning individual events for NPHS were Chris Larsen (100 freestyle), Charley Halligan (200 freestyle), Landan Jahnke (500 freestyle) and Tyler Halligan (100 backstroke, 200 individual medley). The boys' 400 freestyle medley relay also took first place. The North Platte girls beat McCook 56-34 and Hastings 53-26. The Lady Dawgs won seven events. Shaylee Guethlein (100 butterfly, 500 freestyle) and Kelly Fitzpatrick (100 backstroke, 200 IM) won two events each. Kathleen Cullinan won the 200 freestyle and Allexis Menghini won in diving. The girls' 200 freestyle relay was also victorious.
