Terry Collins Jr., 30, was jailed Tuesday afternoon for the alleged assault and strangulation of a North Platte woman. Police responded around 2 p.m. to a report of a "verbal disturbance" in the 300 block of East E St., police spokesman Rodney Brown said. A 31-year-old woman told police that Collins threw her to the floor, then grabbed her by the throat until she had trouble breathing and then forced her to go outside the house. Police determined there was probable cause to charge Collins for strangulation, a felony, as well as third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Tia Collins, 31, was arrested for second degree trespass, disturbing the peace and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the same investigation.
