The North Platte Community College women’s basketball team fell Tuesday night to the McCook Community College Lady Indians, 86-69. The Lady Knights (12-9) were led by Paige Hasty with 18 points and 12 rebounds and by Lacey Houston who contributed 16 points. The Lady Indians (17-4) were paced by Akia Davis with 25 points and by Shelby Hemmann with 18 points.
At half time the Indians led the Lady Knights 44-27, behind 13 points from Akia Davis. The Lady Knights fought to keep pace behind 10 points from Paige Hasty.
In the second half, the Lady Knights played even with the Lady Indians but were never able to close the gap.
After traveling for seven straight games, the Lady Knights return home for two home games this week. The first game will see the Lady Knights take on the Eastern Wyoming Lady Lancers (11-7) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 31.
The game is a doubleheader with the men and will be broadcast on Rock 100 radio. The second home game will pit the Lady Knights against the Northeast Lady Hawks (20-2) at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lady Hawks defeated the Lady Knights 94-46 earlier this year.
