Blake Suhr, 23, of North Platte, will spend up to three years in the state pen for domestic assault and strangulation. District Judge Richard Birch handed down the sentence Monday after Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Tanya Roberts-Connick said that Suhr has an extensive record that includes five separate charges of domestic assault. Connick said Suhr has been in the county jail 14 times. That doesn’t seem to be working as a deterrent, she said. Suhr's record also shows alcohol offenses dating to 2007, protection order violations, possession of marijuana, marijuana distribution, criminal mischief, theft, fugitive from justice, a sex assault, a vehicle theft, false reporting, disturbing the peace, possession of narcotic equipment, driving under the influence and driving under suspension. In March 2011, Suhr was charged with distribution of marijuana. According to court records, he sold 3.25 grams of marijuana to an undercover police informant for $60.
