Historical museum to hold NBland Days beard contestTell North Platte what you think

The Lincoln County Historical Museum will have a beard growing contest at 1 p.m. June 9 in conjunction with the annual Heritage Festival that kicks off Nebraskaland Days.

Museum director Jim Giffin made the announcement Monday to allow plenty of time to grow whiskers.

Griffin said there will be two divisions: Natural Beard (beard & mustache) and Styled Beard (beard and/or mustache or a beard that is styled).

Duck Dynasty (Duck Commander) prizes will be awarded for the first three places in each division, he said.

The entry fee is $5 per contestant per division. All entries must be submitted by May 31.

Entry forms will be available on Feb. 1 at the museum or on the museumís website, www.lincolncountymuseum.org.
