At around 12:45 a.m. (early Sunday morning), a North Platte Police officer on patrol saw a vehicle driving without headlights near Dewey and Francis, Police Information Officer Rodney Brown said.

Alexander, 40, was operating the vehicle.

In addition to the no-headlights violation, Alexander was cited for no proof of insurance. The officer also discovered that Alexander had an active Lincoln County warrant. She was placed under arrest and searched.

Two Hydrocondone tablets, a controlled substance, were found on her. Also, a search of the vehicle turned up a large concealed hunting knife, a debit card that didn't belong to her, approximately eight empty women’s purses, a pair of stolen Nebraska license plates, drug paraphernalia and other substances thought to be illicit drugs, Brown said.

The vehicle also contained other property that police suspected is stolen, Brown said. The car was impounded. More testing and processing of evidence is underway.

Alexander has been jailed 19 times in the last decade, according to Lincoln County Sheriff's records.

So far this time, Alexander is charged with several crimes besides the warrant -- possession of controlled substance (Hydrocodone/Acetaminnohen), possession of stolen property, possession of concealed weapon, possession of deadly weapon by a prohibited person and possession of drug paraphernalia.
