Jeanne and Kurt Pieper

Kurt and Jeanne Pieper were named to the Wall of Honor of the North Platte Catholic Schools Thursday.

The Wall of Honor is the highest recognition given by the Catholic schools.

The Piepers were recognized for their long record of generous service to the school, its students and teachers. Between them, the couple has served on the school board, led the activities association and tirelessly volunteered for school fund raising activities and renovation projects.

They served as a leadership couple for Project 2000 -- the capital campaign for financing the new McDaid building. They were also involved in the building committee that directed the construction of the facility.

Kurt is a 1976 graduate of St. Patrick High School. Their three sons are St. Patrick graduates as well.

Kurt and Jeanne continue a family tradition of generosity, giving their time, talent and treasure on behalf of the school and its programs.

Four of Kurt's siblings and both of his parents served as members of the school board. Jeanne has been bookkeeper for the St. Patrick Activities Association for more than 15 years.

School administrators say the Piepers “are someone we know will be there to help any time there is a need.”

The "Wall of Honor" award is extended to members of the school community who have made enduring significant impact on the school and its operations, former superintendent Bill McGahan said.

The Piepers were saluted at the school Thursday night. They join recent inductees Kathleen and Pat Keenan, who were honored Jan. 5.

Plaques are displayed in the commons area of McDaid Elementary School.
