North Platte St. Pat's had no trouble on Thursday night at home with Maxwell in a 70-17 victory. Even though Maxwell (1-14) was overmatched, St. Pat's coach Bill O'Malley praised his team for not just going through the motions against the Wildcats. "I was really pleased with our intensity," said O'Malley. "Defensively, we moved well and kept the ball out of the lane." The Irish (15-2) went up 11-1 halfway through the first quarter when Joe O'Malley made a three-pointer from the left corner. Joseph Clinch then scored on the next possession when he put in a missed three by Matthew Buhrman. Andrew O'Neill then scored the next two buckets to close out the 17-point run for St. Pat's. "Offensively, we knew we were going to see a lot of zone and we did a good job against it tonight," O'Malley said. St. Pat's continued to dominate the rest of the way and its second string played all the minutes down the stretch.
