Pamela Baker, 47, of North Platte, was convicted Friday of attempted possession of methamphetamine
Baker pled no contest to the charge in Lincoln County Court.
Prosecutors said Baker was stopped by the Nebraska State Patrol for speeding and when the trooper approached her car, he noticed drug paraphernalia inside it. He found two glass pipes and a baggie that contained residue that tested positive for meth.
Baker has completed a drug and alcohol evaluation. She was sentenced to a year of probation with conditions of random search and testing.
The charges were amended from possession of meth and possession of paraphernalia in a plea agreement with the Lincoln County Attorney’s Office.
In other court action, Terry Houchin, 30, of North Platte, appeared for arraignment on three separate charges -- possession of hashish with intent to deliver, as well as theft and theft of services.
The court decided to bundle his cases. Houchin asked for a public defender. Judge Michael Piccolo assigned the public defender’s office but an individual attorney was not named.
Houchin’s bond is set at $50,000.
Gage C. Griffing, 29, was arraigned on charges of possessing xanax and aderol.
Griffing told Lincoln County Judge Michael Piccolo the he intends to hire his own attorney and he asked for time to do that, since his attorney will be from another state.
Griffing’s bond is $25,000.
